Coach

Role Summary:
The Coach is the leader of the team and plays a vital role in teaching the fundamentals of the game, building confidence, and promoting sportsmanship among players.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and lead team practices and games

• Teach age-appropriate skills, game rules, and teamwork

• Communicate regularly with parents and players

• Encourage a positive and inclusive environment

• Coordinate with KYAA leadership regarding schedules, equipment, and league updates

• Ensure player safety at all times

Ideal For:
Individuals with strong leadership, communication skills, and a passion for youth development and athletics.

Assistant Coach

Role Summary:
The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach during practices and games and helps foster a positive learning experience for all players.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with drills, skill-building, and game-day management

• Help monitor player behavior and safety

• Step in when the Head Coach is unavailable

• Reinforce team goals and coach directives

• Serve as a positive role model for all participants

Ideal For:
Volunteers who enjoy working with children and want to contribute in a supportive coaching role.

Field Prep

Role Summary:
Field Prep volunteers help maintain a safe and playable field environment for practices and games. This behind-the-scenes role is essential for smooth game day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rake and line fields before games

• Set up bases and equipment as needed

• Ensure dugouts and benches are clean and accessible

• Assist with post-game field maintenance when necessary

• Communicate field issues to KYAA leadership

Ideal For:
Volunteers who prefer hands-on, physical tasks and want to contribute to the success of the league without being on the field coaching.

KYAA Voting Member

Role Summary:
A KYAA Voting Member is an active participant in the governance and future direction of the organization. Members attend meetings and discuss important decisions, including leadership elections and major initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend regular KYAA board and member meetings

• Review and discuss policies, procedures, and league changes

• Participate in KYAA Committees

• Support KYAA events and promote the organization in the community

• Stay informed on KYAA bylaws and objectives
